Design/Build for a Provide Redundant HVAC System at South Bed Tower.

This request is for a Design/Build for a Provide Redundant HVAC System at South Bed Tower.

San Diego Project Management, PSC shall perform a thorough field assessment to validate the HVAC system location shown on drawings. A new main piping distribution from the re-heat and chiller water located at SBT Building mechanical room Penthouse shall be provided to serve the new AHU and re-heat coils s along with new control valves, strainers, etc.

Our Company will offer Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and Architectural disciplines for the D/B Design-Build Project to provide redundant Air Handling Units (AHU) with the capability of providing negative pressure to the South Bed Tower building. This redundant equipment will support the existing system in case of failure or required shut down for maintenance.

Currently, there are multiple patient care areas where there is only one piece of equipment capable of providing conditioned air (including but not limited to Urology, Cardio Cat, Interventional Radiology, SICU, All Floors of SBT, etc.). These areas are exposed to this single point of vulnerability issue, whereas if the equipment fails, the area will come out of its required parameters. Also, this equipment must operate 24hr/7days which makes it extremely difficult to coordinate shutdowns to perform their required maintenance, which in turn shortens the life of the equipment and increases the maintenance cost associated with the equipment. Additionally, with the new functionality, the wards will be able to be converted to negative pressure in case of a pandemic.
